Remember Flobots? I’m pretty sure you listened to their song “Handlebars” way back in the day, thought it was really cool, and then wrote them off as a one hit wonder. Except, they didn’t write themselves off. They’ve kept producing. They’ve gotten involved with their communities, with our communities, trying to make the world a better place. They’ve certainly done a lot more for this world than I ever have.
When it came time to fund their latest record, they went to Kickstarter, and the world gave back. Fast forward to the release of NOENEMIES, an album full of amazing songs that deserve to be huge. My personal favorite is Carousel, a kaleidoscopic melody that (unless I’m interpreting it completely wrong) is about social media addiction and making sure we don’t let this boundary breaking technology keep us from seeing the humanity in the people around us.
Anyway, give it a listen, and if you like it, listen to the rest of NOENEMIES and buy a copy or two if it hits home for you.
