Time for the final Music Monday of October! After last week’s not-even-attempting-to-be-spooky entry, I’m returning to form! Or, not. I mean, at least someone is in costume in this video. Maybe more than one someone. I mean, I don’t know how those guys dress in real life. They could rock the investment banker look when not on stage. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Aaaaaanyway. This week’s song is I Am Electric by Heaven’s Basement.
I’m going to preface this by saying this is not the type of music that I normally go for. It’s got a lot of elements of Nu-Metal, and generally not the type of vocals I go for. But something about it, man, something about it captured my imagination. First off, anything that I could listen to this many times with this much drums / guitar was an instant add to the workout playlist. And let’s face it, the Godslaying aspect of the song really appealed to me.
I realized what drew me in on about my sixth listen. This song is the intro music for the second arc in an anime about killing gods / immortals / creatures pretending to be gods. Except, such an anime doesn’t exist. So I wrote a treatment and plot synopsis for it. It’s called Heretic and will be airing in the UK starting fall of 2020.
No. Okay, that’s not true. I mean, I did write a rough draft treatment and synopsis and a novelization of the climactic scene, but it hasn’t been seen by anyone other than me, so I doubt anyone is going to pick it up yet. Especially not the UK. Why did I go Britain as the place where my anime debuts? No offense, but that’s not exactly the prime markets. I guess it’s important to have reasonable expectations in all things.
Huh. Well, I kind of lost the thread of this thing, so I think all stop here. Anyway, thanks for reading if you stuck it out, and I do hope you like the song. Let me know what you think in the comments.
