Welcome to another edition of Music Monday! For November, I’m going to go ahead and go back to not having a theme. That was more difficult than I thought it would be, and I didn’t even stick to it that well.
This week I’m listening to Too Much by Sims ft. P.O.S.
Time for the final Music Monday of October! After last week’s not-even-attempting-to-be-spooky entry, I’m returning to form! Or, not. I mean, at least someone is in costume in this video. Maybe more than one someone. I mean, I don’t know how those guys dress in real life. They could rock the investment banker look when not on stage. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Aaaaaanyway. This week’s song is I Am Electric by Heaven’s Basement.
It’s time for another October edition of Music Monday. This week is Rattatat by Five Knives. It’s October-y because… uh.. knives are scary? Fine. I think at this point I’m abandoning my premise, at least for a week. This song is just fun.
Welcome to another October Music Monday, where I don’t bring the scary but I do have a very loose theme that I’m trying to stick to, if only be titles. This week I’ll be talking about Can’t Go To Hell by Sin Shake Sin.
This song is catchy as fuck. I mean, the beats are upbeat, the guitar work and vocals are simple and repetitive but still varied enough that it’s not a bad thing, and if I’m being honest, I’m a sucker for the clap along beat. This particular song has a pretty notable Queens of the Stone Age vibe, with a dash of Karn Evil 9. There’s also some great lyrics “Too early for surrender, too late for a prayer” especially stands out for me.
This song was a pretty instant add to my pump up / workout playlist, and can pretty easily put me in a fighting mood.
Is this the kind of song that gets your blood flowing? Let me know in the comments what you think.
Welcome to another October edition of Music Monday. Today I’ll be rambling about Terrified by The Rural Alberta Advantage.
Okay, so, if you listen to it, you might think that it’s kind of a stretch to include it in a Halloween month line up. It’s not really about anything spooky or scary. Well, tough nuts, this is my blog, and I get to stretch however I want. It’s called Terrified. Close enough.
It’s the first Music Monday of October, so I thought I’d step into a bit of spooky with “Necromancin’ Dancin’” by Bear Ghost. It’s kind of a weird pop punk super catchy piece that seems to be about taking over the world with an army of the dead in order to have a badass dance contest. It’s a silly amount of fun.
Happy Halloween (month)!
Another edition of Music Monday.
Today we’re taking a look at “Feel the Weight” by Fitness.
It’s poppy and way catchier than I want to give it credit for. The video is… interesting? I mean, it’s a weird mix of rock show and hanging out in a house? With someone in a lab coat offering bottles like a shady guy in a back alley. Oh, and everyone in the video looks bored. Except when dancing their way up stairs while wielding super bright lights. Maybe it’s a metaphor for depression. Maybe the director hates smiles. I dunno. I’m not going to lie, there’s a lot I like about this song, but I don’t understand most of it.
Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think, and if I’m wrong and why.
